When we ever return to Houghton/Hancock MI we’ll be sure to book this place. It was basically perfect.

Convenient location on the main drag in downtown Houghton. Cool exterior, spotless interior. 10/10, will definitely try to stay here again when I visit MTU.

Great, cute, clean and brand new looking place! Everything seemed so clean! I was a bit surprised it was inside a pole barn, but it was extremely quiet, peaceful and a quick drive to Houghton for Michigan Tech move out weekend. Great restaurants and bars there! Close to beautiful nature trails, a sweet historic dam, and waterfalls. Very responsive host 😊

We adored this unique and beautiful space. We were given codes for building entrance and one for our room. It was a little dark upon our arrival, but it added to the adventure for us. The room itself was pristine and had everything you’d need for a weekend stay or even a bit longer. There are lots of dining options, hiking/walking trails, and cute shops not too far away. The Keweenaw Peninsula is a beautiful and restful place to be. The bed was comfortable, the windows let in beautiful sunlight. We will definitely look into staying here again the next time we travel north!

We absolutely loved our stay at Fred and Maria’s place! It was spacious, clean, & we appreciated the fenced in yard for our dog. We had a minor internet issue when we first arrived (totally out of Fred and Maria’s hands), but they were super responsive and able to get it fixed right away, which we greatly appreciated! We will be back!

Very inventive use of space. Plenty of room for doing yoga. Lots to do in the area. We were there for an anniversary getaway, and they even had a card and some sparkling apple juice with champagne glasses for us! We liked being part of the effort to restore this historic building. It might be worth noting that there are lots of stairs and no elevators. My spouse has a bad knee, but we managed. It does reference the fact that this is on the third floor in the write-up, I think I just didn't think about the fact that there might not be an elevator. This was a good value and we were very happy with our stay.

Nice location to commute into Houghton or L’anse. Clean space and full kitchen. I thought I was going to have my dog but ended up not bringing her, but would be a great for pets with the small yard space. I’d stay again in the future!

Our stay in the Lake House was great. Home was beautiful and peaceful.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location. We were so close to the SDC for the MTU graduation! It was the perfect spot. There were lots of games to choose from for the evenings when we were all hanging out. The coffee station was nice. The big desk in the single bedroom was great for our daughter to work on some school work while we were away from home. It was a great experience! I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming for MTU graduation!

We were up in Houghton for our son's graduation from Michigan Tech, and Irina's guest house was a wonderful place to stay. The location was very convenient to Houghton and MTU's campus. The home was comfortable and well appointed. Everything was clean and the instructions were clear. Irina was very friendly and communication about how to get there was helpful. Would stay here again if we come back to Houghton. Thank you!

A wonderful and cozy place to stay on the water. Still a convenient drive to MTU in Houghton. Hosts were friendly and helpful and so accommodating. Will stay again!

Above & beyond with my booking error and not thinking through my husband working remote. I SO appreciate how you were just ‘on it’ to help me. We stayed here last Oct. and honestly, we’ll book our visits around their availability. Beds are comfy cozy, plenty of space for family dinner & game nights and crafts.

What can I say the views were beautiful! When I first waked in everything was clean and spotless. The back deck was a nice to sit and look out at the lake! I’ll have to say the couch was super comfortable, beds were also! I would definitely recommend staying here I’m going to have to come back up in the summer! Go check this place out!
