We are situated 5 minutes walk from Derwent Water and the Nicol End Marina for kayaking and water activities. Portinscale has a pub that serves food and a cafe. Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

Our cottage is a converted lakeland barn in the village of Pardshaw, near Cockermouth. Ideal for couples, walkers, cyclists, or families as a base for exploring the stunning Western Lake District. It's very cosy in the winter with comfy leather sofas and a woodburning stove, and there's a large 1st floor deck for Al Fresco dining in the summer.
