This spacious Victorian cottage is a great base to explore the coast , walk, birdwatch or paddleboard. Situated in the traditional fishing village of Tollesbury the cottage has a lovely dining area, fully stocked kitchen, two large bedrooms and garden. We’re a 5 minute walk from the water and access to miles of coastal seawall walks and nature reserves looking over the river Blackwater. Tollesbury is a popular place in summer with a saltwater swimming lido and many water based activities.

Located at the end of a quiet gravelled mews out of sight and earshot of the road but just a stones throw away from local amenities (just 120 steps to The Greyhound pub)! At over 150 years old, this charming cottage is packed with original features and has recently been restored to a high standard ensuring a luxurious and comfortable stay with all the latest mod cons.

Relax in this detached former cart lodge surrounded by beautiful countryside and located in the owners’ grounds in a great rural location. The Cart Lodge can accommodate up to 5 people, with the Master Bedroom having a King size bed and the second bedroom having a Queen size bed and single bed. We take the utmost care in cleaning the property including disinfecting frequently touched surfaces between reservations so that it is safe for our guests upon arrival.

The Cottage is at the end of a pretty tree-lined drive set in the 12 acre grounds of Street Farm. It is a beautiful setting with water meadow and streams, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife. The cottage is detached and well away from the farmhouse making it a wonderfully peaceful and secluded place to relax. There are many footpaths to explore straight from the Cottage, with both the River Deben and Newbourne Springs Nature Reserve in easy walking distance.

Fully self contained annexe with its own private entrance and parking. The property is part of a historic house set in 2 acres of quiet, secluded gardens. It includes a fully equipped kitchen with espresso machine, washing machine, tumble dryer, lounge/diner, second lounge with sofa-bed and main bedroom with en-suite bathroom with large shower, separate bath, basin and WC. The annexe has its own secluded garden. Only 1.7 miles to the beach.

Riverside gem with a nautical past

In the heart of lower Wivenhoe on the quay, our little self-contained cottage was once part of the home of The Colne Marine and Yacht Company. Its thick brick walls and quiet and pretty disposition, defy its former role as a working yard where timber yachts were crafted and repaired, drawn up inside at high tide. Emma and Charlie welcome guests back time after time to relax and enjoy this very special place. We hope you will join them.
