One of two new modern rustic Amish built cabins on the property, Cat Creek Retreat is your perfectly accessible wilderness base camp! Located just 15 miles southwest of Monte Vista, these secluded cabins sit on the flank of the San Luis Valley on 70 acres of private land bordered on two sides by BLM land only 2 miles from the Rio Grande National Forest. Wake up to panoramic views of the Sangre de Cristo Range rising dramatically to the east, and the rugged San Juan Mountains glowing to the west.

Brookie on the Conejos

Our cabins are located directly on the Conejos River with everything you could need for your stay. In addition we have a beautiful pond stocked with trout. Catch and release barbless hook fly fishing is available by reservation on our river or pond separate from booking the cabin for an additional fee. PLEASE NOTE FISHING IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED. Relax with the whole family at this cozy 3 bedroom home located in the quiet, little town in Manassa in the beautiful San Luis Valley. The San Luis Valley is known for the beautiful mountains, with great hunting and fishing. We are a 15 minute drive to Cumbres and Toltec Scenic railroad, 1 hour to Zapata Falls and Great Sand Dunes National Park, 45 minutes to Colorado Gators Reptile Park. We allow full access to our home but not the garage. We do not allow any type of smoking indoors.

The property borders the Cumbres and Toltec Railway with a front porch view of the train during train season! Its a short walk to fishing and hiking in the Rio Grande National Forest. This four-season cabin can be especially enjoyable as a cozy retreat once snow flies and can be accessed by snowmobile, XC skis or snowshoes!
