The Barn is a unique old stone barn but modern, with an open plan sitting/kitchen/ eating area with cathedral ceiling and a long narrow window overlooking the Salt Lake to one side, a small window looking down to the sea on the other. There are two bedrooms and a wet room style bathroom (no bathtub) but plenty of hot water and underfloor heating. It is wonderfully quiet, a real retreat for those who just want to escape. This is a gorgeous little hut built in the top corner of a hay barn, but has the feeling of a comfortable treehouse. It is located in a peaceful rural setting overlooking a field. It is quite near other buildings in which we live, but it is totally private. Access requires climbing two short flights of sturdy steps which bring you on to its balcony Kilkenny city is a handy 20 minute drive away, but a car is needed as there is no public transport. A perfect place to retreat to.
