Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

You can easily get to downtown Vancouver and Hwy 1. Your hosts are a university teacher & accountant. There is a construction site next door and down the street. All over Vancouver Metro, municipalities are increasing urban density near transit hubs. The construction noise on any given day is hit or miss, intermittent and beyond our control.

Centrally located in Coquitlam, the basement suite has 1 bedroom with a queen bed, a large bathroom, couch and dining table. Our location is not recommended for guests who want to be close to downtown Vancouver, or are looking for proximity to Vancouver proper. We are 35 min via car from downtown Vancouver, 45 min drive from YVR Vancouver International Airport. We do not accept any 3rd party bookings. If you are not staying here, you cannot book for someone else.

Locate in Coquitlam center, Walk 5 minutes to Lincoln Skytrain station and 8 minutes to Coquitlam Mall. There are many restaurants, supermarkets, parks, schools....everything you need nearby. This 2 BR suite is on the ground floor with separate entrance and private laundry. It is no common area at all. We provide , a portable A/C(just for summer time),fans,coffee maker, kettle and electric cooker etc..,free high speed Wifi, smart RokuTV, BBQ and free parking.

Starlight Poolside Suite

Starlight Poolside Suite is a perfect one-bedroom guest suite in my detached house in Coquitlam’s Ranch Park neighbourhood. Coq Centre Mall, West Coast Express Train and Skytrain all within a 15 minute drive! You can walk to all these but as I am on a hill, you may wish to take transit or a cab back (5 mins). The comfy king bed can be split into two twin XL beds upon request. Shared backyard and heated pool (POOL OPEN JUN THRU SEPT).
