Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Dedicated Short-Stay for Notre Dame events or Business Downtown NEW 2 bed/2 full bath suite (2nd floor) with 10-12' ceilings, all amenities, including free internet, fully supplied kitchen and whirlpool tub. In downtown South Bend walking distance to multiple bars, restaurants, Morris Performing Arts Center and Century Center events facility. On-site free parking and free shuttle right outside to and from Notre Dame on game days and minutes from the Indiana-Michigan River Valley bike Trails.

Tiny Retro Studio for One Person

TINY studio for one non-smoker. Our usual guest is a busy academic, intern, medical worker or businessperson. This TINY studio is located in an old 4-unit apartment house, so there is some in-house sound transfer. Our neighborhood is usually quiet, but not always. See the LOCATION section under the map to check if our neighborhood is suitable for you. No smoking indoors or out. Memorial Hospital 3 blocks, Notre Dame 2.5 miles, downtown 1/2 mile. 8 minutes to SB Airport and 80/90 Toll Road.

Mainstay Mini

This apartment was my home for 2 years. It's got all of the essentials on a budget. Offstreet parking steps from your door in centrally located unit walkable distance to bars/ restaurants. Front door opens to your living/sleeping space, continue through to laundry, kitchen and bath with a very small shower further inside. Light sleepers take notice: this unit shares a wall with 2 units and a stairwell. You will hear the wall mounted heat and air unit and other tenants occasionally.

Private Entrance Guest Suite on the River

Stay in our studio apartment suite with private exterior door entrance. Hosts live in the rest of the house. From the backyard you can fish, kayak/canoe, paddle board, enjoy a bonfire, grill, and relax by the river. There's a king memory foam bed, sleeper sofa, and 49" TV. Remote work friendly with spacious workspace desk, fast WIFI, and coffee. The closet has a mini food prep area with mini fridge and microwave, and grill out on back patio. It's a quick 15 min drive to Notre Dame.

Cabin by the Creek

This little cabin sits on the creek side with a deck overlooking the creek. You will have a woods on one side, and farm animals on the other. It is as peaceful as it gets. Enjoy the feeling and atmosphere of camping with a crackling fire in the fire pit, enjoy a s'more or 2, & a cozy queen bed to sleep in at night. It has a loft that can fit an older child or preteen to sleep. If you love camping and farm animals this is the place for you. It’s the peace you have been looking for!

South Bend Fully Restored Cottage Built in 1912

South Bend historic cottage in the National Historic District of Chapin Park. Minutes from Notre Dame and downtown. There is a queen sized bed and a sofa, not sofa bed in the sitting room. This cottage built in 1912. Private and cozy, the cottage has a big screen TV, wifi and a gourmet kitchen. The owner lives almost directly behind and is available and happy to assist. Chapin Park's tree-lined, brick streets and diverse historic architecture are charming. No smoking.

A patio door with a deck and a great sunset! A clean little place to kick back and relax.

Cozy cottage fully renovated tucked into a beautiful park-like surrounding. Near to Notre Dame, South Bend, Lake Michigan Beaches, and wine trails. Relax here on your own patio. Luxuriate in the huge new shower. This darling two-room tiny house with a kitchenette has the conveniences and comfort you want for a short stay. The queen bed sleeps two while the couch in the main room is deep and can sleep another. Wifi and Roku enabled. Perfect little getaway!

Cabin off 39 - Peaceful, private one bedroom cabin

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Nestled among the trees, it provides a quiet getaway from the chaos of life allowing you to recharge and renew. The main residence is approximately 400 feet from the cabin. The cabin is secluded and yet close to local attractions, restaurants, biking and nature trails. The Cabin has a total of 420 sq ft living space with 280 sq ft on the ground floor and a 140 sq ft bedroom loft.

The Serenity Suite

The Serenity Suite is a 230 sq ft. tiny house studio apartment created in 2022. A kitchen island with 2 barstools is in the center of the space. This can be used as a sit down eating spot or a dedicated workspace. The 3/4 bath boasts up to date accessories and soft, thirsty towels.
