Sat on an 11 acre croft, it has views encompassing the sea to the South and the amazing coastal cliffs and stunning mountains to the West. What an idylic place to relax and base your scottish holiday from. With low levels of light pollution, a clear galaxy of unbelievable stars and planets look as though they can be reached for. Sitting on the terrace at night is one of the most breathtaking experiences we have seen. Also, as south facing, the sunsets and sunrises are also a memory in the making. You may also experience the Tornado jets fly over as they are based at RAF Lossiemouth. Cosy Shepherd’s Hut near NC500 with Sea Views

At only five miles from the popular John o Groats signpost, Jo and Karina would love to welcome you at one of three cozy self-catering glamping pods at The Crofter's Snug - lots of local area info on our website. Located at the top of Scotland you'll enjoy one of the best views in the area - even the locals are envious! One mile off the popular NC500 tourist route, our two pods and a Shepherd's Hut offer peace and quiet in an idyllic location with some amazing sunrises, sunsets and starry skies.

The Cairn hut

Get away from it all when you stay in our cosy shepherds hut. Set 2 miles from the NC500 route near the village of Lybster in a rural spot. Get ready for country views and big dark skies at night. An ideal spot to capture the aurora borealis or see the wild deer roaming the surrounding fields. Our cosy cabin is capable of sleeping up to 2 adults and 1 child. The cabin has an induction hob for cooking and comes with its own seperate bathroom facility next door plus an outside firepit area.

Ethel's Cottage: Idyllic Riverside 1 Bed Cottage

The recently refurbished and modernised Ethel's Cottage is in an idyllic location, flanked by two rivers. This gate lodge cottage offers the perfect place to stay for a few nights or longer! Easily accessed from the A9 (on the NC500 route) and just a two-minute walk from a secluded beach and estuary with lots of short walks from the front door and plenty longer ones in the vicinity. Modern appliances and comfortable furnishings, the cottage has everything you will need for a relaxing break.

The Old Coastguard Station,NC500

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The views are simply breathtaking. The Old Coastguard Station has been fully renovated and refurbished. Downstairs, offers a family bathroom, 3 double bedrooms (one en-suite with a toilet and sink), all with spectacular sea views. Walk upstairs to be greeted by open plan living room/ diner that leads onto a modern kitchen & separate utility room. There are panoramic views of the Moray Firth and the northern lights often make an appearance.

Foulis Castle Gate Lodge

Foulis Gate Lodge is a Highland cottage on the Gates of an historic, private, Highland estate with its own drive. The secluded location offers direct access to extensive gardens. The nearest amenities are 2miles in Evanton or 5miles to the ancient Burgh of Dingwall. Foulis Castle is a 15 min walk away from the Storehouse Restaurant & Farm shop, which is situated on the shore/beach of the Cromarty Firth (Mon-Sat 9-5pm). My place is good for NC500 travellers, couples, and business travellers.

This cabin has a double bed, French doors onto a gravelled private area with patio furniture perfect for enjoying a drink, the views and sea air.
