Our house is detached, well equipped, spacious & south facing with walks & off road cycling from the doorstep, fab views. Keep it simple in this peaceful retreat in the centre of Wheddon Cross. Exmoor is an international dark sky reserve and The Retreat couldn’t be better placed for stargazing. A few steps take you to the Rest and be Thankful coaching inn, loved by locals and visitors, it is renowned for its Sunday carvery. There is also a petrol station with a supermarket in the village, stocking fresh fruit, vegetables and meat from local farms, it also has an in-house bakery for your fresh baked needs.

It is available to let all year round, for long or short breaks, and is the ideal location for families as well as for hunting and shooting breaks. Whichever your reason for visiting the moors, The Old Forge will be the peaceful and comfortable accommodation that you require.
