Qué harás

The cooking class and wine tasting will start touring our wineyard that overlooks the sea and admiring the gardens where we grow seasonal organic vegetables. After that, we’ll start the wine tasting where I’ll let our guests taste some of our best local wines and explain them their specific characteristics. Then we’ll start the cooking class where we will be able to prepare fresh pasta from scratch ( tagliatelle, ravioli or gnocchi). Each guest will have his own place on the table with all ingredients ( flour, eggs,water etc.), a rolling pin and a chopping board so to make his own pasta. I’ll personally supervise all the pasta making process and help each guest realize the dough. We will then be ready to prepare the pasta sauce ( ragù, carbonara, clams or tomatoe) with fresh ingredients and to eat the first dish.
At this point a wide range of appetizers will be served ( mozzarella, ricotta, salami, local cheese and vegetables of the season).
The meal will end with a delicious
Dessert along with homemade limoncello!

The location where the wine tasting and cooking class will be held is an authentic country side villa with terraces overlooking the sea called "Monticelli Mansion" where our guests will have the possibility to taste different wines, learn fresh pasta making from scratch and enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner. Cristina was a fabulous host! She picked us up at the train station and took us to her villa in the country, gave us a tour of her gardens. She grows many things on her land including lemon, olive, and fig trees, herbs, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and too much more to list. We made pasta from scratch, picked the lemons and herb ingredients for our meal, enjoyed some regional wine, and enjoyed a delicious dessert at the end. It was a great experience for our family, with hands on activities even for our 8 year old.

Maria Cristina è stata un’anfitriona fantastica, estremamente accogliente, ci ha fatto assaggiare di tutto e di più lasciandoci sempre più colpiti dalla bontà delle cose che ci offriva. La lezione che offre è unica, perché ti dà la possibilità di cucinare davvero tutto con le tue mani sotto la sua guida. Ne sa a bizzeffe!! Ed è simpaticissima. Casa meravigliosa in un angolo di mondo ancora più meraviglioso. L’unica rimpianto che abbiamo è che non ci siamo fermati a dormire presso la sua struttura. Vorrei anche far notare che qualche giorno dopo abbiamo fatto un’altra cooking class a Napoli, stavolta di pizza, ma è assolutamente incomparabile con il livello di Maria Cristina!

This cooking experience had a bit of everything! We were picked up by the host at the train station and driven to her beautiful home. We took a tour of the property and the gardens, had local wine and prepared a delicious meal. The other group members were so nice as well! Our host, Christiana, took her time and answered all our questions. We learned so much!

Cristina was beyond accommodating. She went above and beyond at every turn to make sure we had the BEST experience. Learning to make gnocchi will be a memory I treasure. She was wonderful about answering questions. I consider myself a cook from a family of cooks, bakers, and chefs. I loved seeing how Christina did things and her passion for the products used and her knowledge of technique. If you have a preference on the type of pasta you’ll be making let her know she might be able to accommodate!

I was the only guest for this experience which would normally make me a bit reserved, but Maria made me feel particularly welcomed. Her estate is amazing, with nearly every ingredient grown & picked by Maria (with some help; it’s two hectares of incredible fruits & veggies). Tomatoes, garlic, sage, citrus, olive oil (of which she produces nearly 180 gallons of EVOO per season). The only things not from her land were the flour & eggs, and the eggs were from a small producer within a few kilometers. I could go on just about the property, but this was about the food. We prepared three pasta dishes: Tagliatelle, orrechio (both in a homemade tomato sauce), and ricotta ravioli with citrus zest and finished with a sautéed butter/sage. All of this was washed down with a bottle of red wine (from her own vineyard, of course). One of the freshest, cleanest, and healthiest meals I’ve ever had, and every bit delicious. You are missing an incredible experience if you don’t visit. When (not if) you go, ensure you have a local mobile/SIM or 4G hotspot/pocket WiFi. Even though I have coverage in Napoli, I was left connectionless by the time I got to via Nocera.
