Stay on a bareboat charter and experience phosphorescence in an ocean bay

Experience a true offgrid experience with otherworldly bioluminescence in an ocean bay off the coast of Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia.
Welcome nature lovers, we are an eco-friendly, off grid, solar powered Rv at sea. We use a top of the line organic composting toilet system to keep nature at its best.

You will be taken by a 6 passenger zodiac from the nearby boat launch or beach to your bareboat charter at sea, tied 3 ways to cement blocks. Here you’ll be dropped off, go over cabin boat and kayak safety tutorials. We will show you how to use the BBQ and composting toilet onboard and leave you to BBQ a your seafood dinner and stay overnight and experience the glowing dinoflagellates in the bay. That evening and the next day, you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at fishing, drop & pull a crab trap, or kayak to shore and go hiking (fishing license must be valid and catch and release preferred).

We will also go on a tour of the area to seal colonies, eagles nests, dive ship and snorkel locations and sea-star cove

This is for up to 4 people. If you wish to be private please contact us so we can close it from others joining in.

Sailing, diving and yachtlife is an experience that can be exciting to share. As an International School guide to the outdoors, Bruce is a Transport Canada captain and Cansail sailing instructor and able to share this bucketlist experience. The unique experience of being on a yacht in complete darkness allows you to view the Milky Way above and the glowing phosphoresence below you. For 4 years and with over 1000 guests - we will try our best to make this the highlight of your trip to BC's West Coast.
As a bonus, this is also Orca ally where its your best chance to view Killer whales and porpoises as its the quieter side of the inlet thats near to fish schools and seal colonies...a food source for orcas.

The whole experience was beautiful! We expected a very rainy day ahead of us but it worked in our favor as it was mostly just cloudy or light rain. Bruce was very cautious and safe during the trips on the zodiac boat to-and-from the yacht. He had many anecdotes and information about the area which was very interesting to learn about - he knows it well! Initially we thought we would not have enough food but he left us a good amount for 4 people + extra. Cooking went fantastic! Both the already-caught seafood and the fresh crabs. Delicious too! Lots of opportunity for entertainment, especially fishing and the kayaks. Temperature was great inside the boat, bed was very comfortable and clean. Did not get sea sick which was awesome, very steady. We maintained contact with Bruce throughout our stay with no problem though initially expected poor signal but it was good enough! Very friendly host and attentive to our needs. His business partner gave us a free ride back to our stop which was the nicest thing ever and we were so appreciative of it! And of course, the scenery is AMAZING and noticed the bioluminescence slightly. Sadly missed the stars because of the cloudy weather, but nothing under our control. Would love to do it again!

Experience was very unique in a breathtaking, private location. The host knows the area very well and gave much insight into the area and some of its history. Yacht itself had necessities supplied and the stay was comfortable. Healthy supply of activities, such as kayaks and fishing/crabbing to keep occupied during our time there. Would highly recommend for couples/double dates.

A fantastic experience with a generous host. Bruce put all his efforts in to making this experience something that I could enjoy and will always remember. Even on a windy and rainy night I still saw a great deal of wildlife including Eagles, Seals and the bioluminescence for which it is named. The seafood was also superb and I would highly recommend getting out on the Kayaks provided since they completely change your perspective of the environment, allowing you to explore this wonderful location and see even more wildlife. I managed to get up close looks at Jellyfish and was joined by a playful seal who decided to follow me around popping his head out every so often to see wear I'd gone. Well worth it, even if you're traveling alone as I was.

We greatly enjoyed our time on the boat. We caught two crabs and enjoyed fresh seafood - it was fantastic. Bruce was a great host. We got to observe bioluminescence in the water at night and also saw wildlife on the way to and from the boat. A great experience that we will remember.

This was a wonderful experience. The bioluminescence was light, however the trip was magical, laying under the stars on the deck, catching crab, touring around by Zodiac, spotting wildlife.. it was terrific. Highly recommend!
