Enter into the beautiful forest that is all around us in a way you never have before with Forest Bathing, drawing from the Japanese Tradition of Shinrin Yoku. This practice is about taking time to slow down and connect with yourself and nature in a way most people don't take the time to do. In forest bathing, we receive the nourishing, healing and restoring energies of the forest and learn to connect with the more than human world. Join me for a journey into the sunny green forest, drinking it in and receiving deep relaxation as you learn simple practices you can do on your own any time.

We will begin with guided walking meditation in the forest where you will be introduced to many of the local flora and fauna, followed by a moment of stillness in your own personal sit spot of your choosing, we may explore some cross-species communication if you are up for it! and end with a gentle forest tea time made from locally gathered herbs.

Urban Forest Bathing allows each person to connect with nature right where they are and receive the healing benefits of the forest in their own way that is best for them.

***We will be visiting forests and sites right in Seattle so there will likely be children laughing, and others walking in the woods as well! We are connecting with the wildness that is present right here in Seattle rather than going to a remote location for our journey.

Miku, or Dr. Miku, is an experienced meditation practitioner and circle facilitator. She was raised in a mindfulness tradition and trained in mindfulness techniques for over 7 years at the Beloved Living Center. Miku has her Ph.D. in environmental social psychology and she has guided weekly meditation, movement, and community share circles since 2013. Miku grew up in Alaska and was raised in deep connection with nature, and has practiced mindful forest walks for many years. She draws from her background as a meditation instructor and her many years communing in deep nature to create a forest bathing experience for visitors that is otherworldly, deeply nourishing and profound.

What a great experience. I would highly recommend this both as a solo experience and a couples’ experience! Miku was very knowledgeable and kind. I would describe the session as meditative, exploratory, and educational. Would do again!
