Qué harás

As our guest, you’ll participate in one of our unique hands-on beekeeping tours. You will explore the secrets of the beehives, meet the bees, and enjoy culinary treats!

First, you will peruse our beekeeping museum, where you will be familiarized with the details of our operation: how we got our start, where our bees are located around the island, how we “follow the bloom,” and how we process the honey. You will then join our beekeeper for a fun and educational exploration of the interior of live beehives. You’ll learn the differences between queen, drone, and worker bees. Watch a waggle dance, and witness baby bees emerging from the comb. You can even try your hand at handling a frame of bees!

Guests will then tour our full operation, including the warehouse where we extract and pack an average of 400,000 pounds of honey a year! We will also stroll through our queen-raising yard, and you’ll observe how we breed and raise queen bees as a small commercial operation.

We will finish up our tour back at the museum, where you will have the opportunity to sample the unique natural flavors of our single-blossom honeys produced from different flowers growing around the island.

Donde estarás

Our first stop is in the museum, a small artfully designed small building on our farm.
We then go visit the demo beehives where, from behind the safety of a screen, visitors can observe the interior of a beehive or don a bee veil and try their hand at holding a frame of bees for themselves.
We then will walk a few yards to see our warehouse and then will go back outdoors to see the queen yard.
Our facility overlooks beautiful Kealakekua Bay.

It was a unique experience nothing you could get on your own. Getting that close to bees and watching worker bees emerge from a comb for her first time.

I enjoyed the bee visit very much. The tour included an educational video, a tour of the production facility, inspection of a hive to learn about the bees, and several yummy snacks with honey, including honey samples. Both our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable, so I learned a lot during the tour. Thank you for a great experience!

The tour of the bee houses was very interesting. Our tour guide got us all suited up and let us touch and hold the honeycombs. He gave lots of information and we enjoyed this portion of the tour. The portion inside the warehouse could have been better. They have a neat little set up where the honey is moved through machines and put in jars which we would have liked to see but they didn't show that part of the process. There was a video and an snack served at the end of the tour. The snack was all different fruits and bread, nuts and chocolate treat. The food was good. It was a nice afternoon.

It was incredible experience! We learned new things; saw the hard work that made us appreciate more: honey, bees, people and their passion; were able to participate in holding the trays with bees. The bee farmer was so fun and interactive with our 4 yo son, (who was a proud helper during our bee interaction) and that definitely made the bee experience authentic and great! Then we met Whendi, learned the processing and packaging and much more and finished up with delicious passion fruit spritz , star fruit and feta grilled with their yummy honey...,the combination of these all was perfect!!!! The museum/ shop is also very cute and unique! Amazing wax sculptures made by owner as well, great crafted products made of bee wax and of course delicious honey!!! They ship for free (probably there s minimum order for that). We already received one box with bee wax goodies, now waiting for our honey jars!:) Great experience! Thank you so much guys!
