Fish, canoe, swim, explore woods and lakes. Spend your time here or use as basecamp for backcountry trips. See deer, eagles, loons, moose, bear, or hear a wolf howl in the distance. LED lanterns, propane cookstoves and refrigeration, get water from lake, or nearby well. Life on the edge.

Storybook Northwoods Log Cabin on Lake Superior

Painted Rock sits perched on a quaint spit of ledge rock, halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, on the edge of Cascade State Park. This historic log cabin has been lovingly restored to retain all its original charm and history, while updated with all the luxury amenities. A large Main Room is home to a wood-burning fireplace, dining table, game table, and picture windows that bring the Big Lake indoors in all seasons. A bathroom with a deep soaker tub and heated floors adds spa-like comfort.

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

Large updated 3/4 bath, kitchen, and indoor wood burning fireplace. Outdoor firepit, firewood and picnic table. WiFi, TV, and DVD. Close to everything Two Harbors and the North Shore provide! A Pack and Play, booster chair & high chair are available. The Nightly fee is for 2 adults. There's a $25 fee/night/each additional guest.

This is the “in the woods but still near town, new and modern with Lake Superior view” place. Built in 2020, the Loft overlooks Lake Superior (every window has a view). Enjoy the beauty of northern MN in this rustic and cozy cabin right on Shagawa lake. Great fishing and close enough to town for easy access to restaurants and shops. Great walleye fishing in the bay directly in front of the cabin. Fishing boat and kayak on site. The cabin is an open concept format. The lower bedrooms require descending 2 steps. The bedrooms are separated by curtains.
