The cabin is located in a quiet mountain area with land to play games, sip coffee on the deck watching the sun rise, relax at the fire pit roasting s'mores watching the sun set, and listening to the Colorado River. Walking distance to everything there is to do in town, across from the town parking lot where you can park your trailer, boat or large vehicle for the whole duration of your stay. Built in 1901 and constantly renovated to keep up with our guests needs. Newly added Hot Tub (see house rules) lets you enjoy the fresh mountain air in the comfort of a 100 degree tub.

What we lost from the seclusion of trees, we gained in 360 degree views of Kawuneeche Valley & Rocky Mountain National Park. Nature has rebounded quickly & you will see abundant wildlife grazing the meadow, with moose and elk visiting daily. You can snowmobile/ATV from cabin to trails in less than 10 min. 4WD/AWD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in Winter.

Stay with us and experience Grand Lake without all the travel and logistics to find rides into town. Reminder: there are NO ride-shares or public transportation. You will not find a better view of Grand Lake than from the patio of this cozy, mountain lake home. From sunrise to sunset, firework shows, fly overs and wildlife viewing - you can’t beat it. This is a VERY well stocked mountain retreat owned and managed by me - Pickles! That Dam Cabin!

This historic 309-square foot cabin was built in 1932 for men working on the Shadow Mountain dam. When we found it, we knew this would be the perfect getaway. Our cabin is 4 miles from downtown Grand Lake! It's a short drive to restaurants, shops, hiking, fishing, the beach and kayak/boat rentals. Head to Rocky Mountain National park to hike and see wildlife or stay home and enjoy s'mores around the fire. On a clear night the stars are absolutely breathtaking!
