Gorgeous natural build in the forest above the lake. Great amenities for a remote location. Can walk or take affordable local transport (boat or tuk-tuk) to any of the surrounding lake towns. Restaurants within walking distance. Safe neighborhood for a female solo traveler.

Excellent peaceful spot. The private dock was a great place to enjoy the afternoon or a morning swim in the lake. Eric was very friendly and offered lots of great recommendations. Would stay again.

We enjoyed the stay very much! The staff were really nice and welcoming. The cabins themselves were comfortable and clean. The finca was beautiful and relaxing. Definitely a cool spot to stay.

This was my second stay at Alice Guesthouse and I will never stay anywhere else in El Remate. Natalie and the rest of the caretakers and staff are all incredibly accommodating and willing to coordinate anything you may want to do in the area. We went on a stellar horseback ride that she arranged the day before, having the horses come right to the guesthouse at whatever time we wanted. The food and bar is also wonderful with plenty of selections and high quality. Truly a hidden paradise :)

Amazing stay! The place was quiet and beautiful. Miguel, who greeted us and helped with our bags, was fantastic—we truly appreciated his help. We enjoyed every minute of our stay! Only one piece of advice, pack light!!

Ce séjour chez Javier aura été le plus marquant de mon voyage de 3 mois au Guatemala. Tout est conforme à la description, la beauté du lieu, accessible uniquement en bateau, la vie paisible des habitants de ce village Quee chi, la rivière et sa piscine naturelle, les oiseaux... Et Javier, sa gentillesse et son attention, sa bonne cuisine et ses balades pour découvrir la région... Je me sens "chanceuse" et j'espère vous donner l'envie de venir aussi vous déconnecter dans cet environnement unique !

Pasamos un increible tiempo en familia, agradecemos la limpieza y la belleza del lugar, tranquilo, encantador y seguro. Sus mascotas estaran seguras, las hamacas son un plus, la cocina muy completa, seguro recomiendo y volveré a Visitar, Rayito se quedo en nuestro corazón. Great place. Very modern, spacious and clean. Felt brand new with a really nice layout. A lot of natural light. Very large comfortable bed. Would be a nice place for a long term stay. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the Main Plaza, or you can walk 5 minutes and get a Tuk Tuk and be anywhere fairly quickly. If staying right in the center of town is not overly important to you, I highly recommend this place.

El lugar es hermoso, muy silencioso, con un cinema maravilloso, perfecto para descansar. El anfitrion fue muy cuidadoso y atento.

Lugar muy bonito para relajarse. Por el precio está genial! No es nada lujoso dentro pero esta limpio y tiene todo lo necesario. La comunicación muy rapido con el anfitrion y la entrada/salida del lugar super práctico. Bastante cerca del pueblo para buscar comida. Ningun problema con nuestros perros (toda vez respeten a los animalitos del lugar) Muchas gracias!!!

“Cozy little cabin in the forest” fit the description perfectly! Juan (caretaker) was very responsive and kind. Would be more accurate to describe toilet as “pit toilet.”

This cute cabin was perfect for our stay. From the beginning, Andres was very responsive and detailed in all instructions. He was able to connect me with a driver to take us from Panajachel to the cabin. Sunsets and mornings are so magical from the cabin, whether you’re waking up on the top floor or sitting outside. Everything was organized and clean. I am a light sleeper and the birds on the roof could be a little noisy at night, but Andres had ear plugs he provided that did the job. The location of the cabin is perfect, everyone in San Antonio is friendly and the coffee shop down the road (Cafe Tekoa) has the best coffee I’ve ever tried. You can also ask them for a local driver and they will point you to Luciano who was an amazing driver. Would definitely book this cabin again! Andres’ hospitality was everything.

Sin duda la cabaña de Louis es espectacular, se siente una tranquilidad como si estuvieras en casa, excelente ubicación para conocer Tikal, hay restaurantes al rededor y la playa publica donde nadar. sin duda regresaria a hospedarme en la cabaña de Louis.

It is a beautiful facility & the cabins are amazing. The sauna & pool are beautiful! The restaurant Posada Santiago is fabulous, however there just isn’t much going on in Santiago.

hola fue muy bonita experiencia, lo recomiendo, pero tal vez ayudaría un poco tener cortinas no trasparentes en la cabaña para sentirse cómodos. y no tener tantos lazos de colgar ropa en todo el espacio para que pueda apreciarse más el hermoso lugar. pero todo lo demás muy acogedor y Chello muy atento. gracias por la experiencia.

Getting to this place is definitely an adventure as many others have mentioned. The walking path requires you to be comfortable with a rocky little hike. However, you are rewarded with the most gorgeous views, infinite privacy, and restorative solitude. The place had everything I needed to enjoy being this close to the lake. It was a wonderful experience staying here and I enjoyed how off the baten path it was.

Es un lugar increible al cual sin duda regresaría. La cabañita es super acogedora, en medio de la montaña. Además la atención de Bianka y su personal fueron inmejorables. Regresaríamos sin duda!

I’m not usually a nature enthusiast, but WOW—this experience was incredible! It literally felt like we were in a treehouse. So peaceful and relaxing, a perfect escape from the hustle of Antigua (which is just an easy 15-minute Uber ride away). The property is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views everywhere you look. The on-site café serves food, but I’d definitely recommend bringing some groceries if you’re arriving in the evening—try to check in before 6 PM! There was a slight gassy smell, but honestly, that was such a small thing compared to how amazing everything else was. Perfect place to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself and/or partner. If you’re looking for a unique stay that blends adventure with tranquility, this is the place.

Such an amazing and serendipitous stay. This little lakeside cottage was exactly what I needed for my week away in San Marcos. The area is perfect and easy access to the downtown San Marcos area. The bungalow itself is super quaint and perfect for 1-3 people. Filtered water provided and a full kitchenette and refrigerator to prepare your own food. The fire pit was lovely as well which I wasn’t expecting. Whenever I plan to be back in San Marcos I will absolutely be checking to see if this airbnb is available during my planned stay. Thank you!
