The location of this home in Kingston is just breathtaking. The lake, the mountains, the quaint little town -- all of it is perfect. It is a 45-ish minute drive from Queenstown, but that was a plus for us as we had day trips planned to Milford Sound and Invercargill. Plus, the drive to Queenstown is so beautiful. The house was very clean and cozy. We made ample use of the washing machine (which conveniently has a dryer option as well). I would highly recommend a stay at Ian's.

It truly felt like a hidden gem - secluded and peaceful, offering the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, yet still conveniently close to town and the beach. We loved the tranquility of the location, and it was the ideal spot to come back to relax and unwind. The space was beautifully designed, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Krissy was an exceptional host, always responsive and thoughtful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect experience. We stayed here prior to a cruise on Doubtful Sound. Very comfortable rural setting on a farm for two couples. A dozen farm eggs for us in the fridge, making for a nice meal of omelets, combined with some extras purchased at nearby Four Square. Plenty of cereals and yogurt. Highly recommended.

This place was in the most beautiful setting. The house itself was large, spacious and cosy. It had everything you could need in a home away from home. It was close to all the surrounding attractions as well as local shops. Hilary was very responsive to messages and made our stay easy and hassle free. I highly recommend this beautiful little house for anyone visiting the Catlins or wanting a picturesque setting.

The cottage is part of a working vineyard, and one finds serenity and feels restful. It is exactly as described. Jen was a wonderful and thoughtful host -- she was responsive, esp. when we brought to her attention small glitches that are bound to happen despite the best of intentions, and she promptly help us to take care of the small glitches and even added a surprising personal touch to make our stay that much more enjoyable. We had a wonderful stay; we got to explore the Central Otago wineries, and got to enjoy the sunset at the cottage sitting on the porch in the back. Jen's cottage is between Alexandra and Clyde, and within short driving distance to some great wineries and to other parts of Central Otago. I find Alexandra an easy and pleasant city to shop for produce if needed. I look forward to staying with Jen again if I visit Central Otago in the future.

This was our second long stay at Ida Cottage. It is in the right location for anything in Lumsden, is quiet, peaceful; up to date and perfectly clean and functional. Duncan is flexible and eager to help in any ways.

Peaceful and well appointed cottage. Super close to local cafes all within walking distance, or just a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage.

We had two nights and everything was as outlined as expected. Great little loft just outside Alexandra set amongst pine trees. Very unique property and would recommend!

this place is a wee gem!! we wanted to stay longer! beautiful decor and lovely big rooms. amazing beds! so comfortable. would defo be back again!
