What a stunning little cottage. Great space for me, hubby and our dog. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and more. It was very comfortable and cosy and the attention to detail is amazing. The welcome basket was an added bonus and very much appreciated. It was just a 5 minute walk into the centre of Bedale and it has everything you need.

Bay Tree Cottage is a beautiful old cottage which has been modernised to a very high standard, whilst remaining sympathetic to the age and location of the property. Everything was high quality, super comfortable and very well equipped from cutlery to games, bed linen to towels, mugs to cleaning materials -everything was perfect. Four of us stayed at Bay Tree Cottage and loved our walks on the beach, visiting the (very) local Cod and Lobster, going out in a local boat trip, as well as visiting other places in the local area. It was a hike up the village to the car park at the top of the village but got us fitter and the views were so spectacular we didn’t mind this and the lack of cars made for a peaceful stay. Kevin contacted us before & just after arrival, making sure all was ok and also soon after we’d left to check we’d enjoyed our stay. This is, without doubt the best Air BnB we’ve stayed in and we can’t recommend Kevin as a host and his beautiful cottage highly enough.

Wow what a beautiful little find. The surroundings are just as beautiful as the place. Attention to detail with this property, felt like home from home. We enjoyed the real fire, the bedding was lush and the bath was to die for 🥰

Owl shepherd's hut was an amazing little place. Lots of thought has been put into the hut and its surroundings. Beautiful location for peace and quiet but plenty of walks and things to do close by. Friendly, helpful hosts. A great weekend was had. Would recommend.

we had an absolutely sensational time for my partners surprise birthday getaway! we stayed in horcum lodge 1 the decor was lovely everything we needed & the hottub area was so relaxing & private the fairy lights made it extra special. I spoke to Alison to arrange a birthday package who was so lovely and helpful. We loved hearing the birds singing, can't stress it enough being the most perfect getaway.. just the tonic we needed we will most certainly be coming back 🥰 so glad i found this gem keep doing what you are doing! thank you

Lovely, clean, spacious lodge in a lovely setting with a perfectly placed hot tub. The lodge meet all our requirements. Plenty of storage space, extra bedding provided and all the essentials. Highly recommended.

Another letter cancelled our booking on the day of our stay which had been booked for over 2 months. Not ideal when you have 5 people travelling 240 miles that morning to spend long weekend in Newcastle to attend a gig. Colin was able to accommodate us at his property and the previous cancellation was a blessing in the end! Colin's communication when booking and throughout the stay was excellent, helpful and proactive. The property is in a lovely area and was much better than the original property we had booked. Nothing negative to say about Colin or the property.....highly recommended for anyone needing accomodation in the area.

After the taxi dropping us off at the wrong place Melanie was very quick in answering my call & sending me local taxi details explaining where to go. the house was lovely, easy check in, nice & cosy. Had everything we needed for our short stay. beds were comfy, house was lovely & clean. There was games for the kids.. My favourite part was having a coffee in the garden so peaceful. Will definitely book again. thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we felt at home from the day we arrived. The cottage was perfect for our extended stay (a month) and we will fondly remember our time in the cottage, Frosterley and the Weardale and North Pennines area. Our hosts were very friendly, laid back and made us feel wonderfully relaxed during our stay. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well appointed and ideal for our needs. We would definitely recommend River View Cottage and the other accommodation in the courtyard to family and friends and we would definitely consider returning in the future for another break.
