Akiko-san er sa famille nous ont accueilli à bras ouverts, enclins à la discution tout en respectant notre intimité. Leurs recommandations étaient excellentes, ils nous ont aidé dans certaines formalité compliquées lorsqu’on ne parle pas la langue. Des soirées conviviales dans une belle maison habitée par de belles personnes. Enfin n’hésitez pas à suivre le cours de cuisine (payant) d’Akiko-san pour en apprendre plus sur des plats simples et traditionnels japonais. Merci encore, prenez soin de vous !

洋子是非常体贴、温暖的房主。从入住准备到为我的出行提供交通建议、再到送我去附近的站点，她几乎无微不至；房间干净、安静、无异味、温馨，小院子更是惊喜，初夏满眼的绿绝对会治愈每一位留宿的人。 房子交通也较为便利，去四面八方的景点都不算很远。附近又不会太喧闹，居住适宜。 住在她的房子里像是短暂的与她成为了亲友，希望不久后能再见🫰🏻

Absolutely gorgeous place with very welcoming hosts. We had a great time and we were served delicious dinner and breakfast after we took a bike ride around the neighborhood to see the gorgeous local temples and vistas

Our thanks to these great hosts who were very accommodating from the first inquiry all the way to checkouut. A very friendly family who truly welcome you to their village and home. The thatched cottage was as advertised and the experience of staying out in the countryside was perfect. Not a complaint, but just stating the house is an old house with low hanging beams, which an average height persob bumped their head 5 times in 3 nights 😉. But again fully recommend Yoshiko-san's Mitoya cottage, a nice peaceful stay.

I had such an amazing stay here! I stayed for about 1 month, and enjoyed every second of it. The house is themed beautifully with British decorations, so I felt right at home. The amenities and all provided and everything was clean. Mari is such an amazing host - kind, helpful and funny. And Gon is an amazing co-host - very cute and friendly! The house is located in a peaceful residential area not too far from the train station which Mari picked me up from on my arrival date. There are shops, parks and temples not far from the house, so lots to do if you want a day to explore nearby. When checking in, Mari provided super helpful suggestions and advice and made sure to explain how to use everything and answer any questions. Mari’s english is also amazing so you shouldn’t have trouble communicating if you only speak English. I would 100% recommend to anyone to come and stay here, and would love to come back in the future. ありがとうございます！

Larry was a very positive, friendly host. Very, very nice person and very helpful. He picked us up from the station which was very nice.

If you go to Kyoto you have to go to Keiko’s house ! She is absolutely LOVELY and her home is very comfortable. It is very easy to go from the station to the station next to her home and she will pick you up there ! I highly recommend this stay 🌸 Thanks again for everything Keiko 🩷

Soggiornare in questo alloggio è come essere a casa. Pulita, accogliente e ordinata, la casa è perfetta e ho avuto il piacere di conoscere anche altri ospiti. La zona è tranquilla, lontano dalle zone turistiche ma ben collegata per raggiungerle in poco tempo. Ciò permette di vivere un'esperienza più autentica. Ci sono molti ristorantini locali dove ho mangiato benissimo. Yoko è molto disponibile e gentile. Non solo mi ha consigliato posti da visitare, ma mi ha anche accompagnato in stazione il giorno della partenza. Purtroppo non sono riuscita a partecipare al workshop di suo padre sui libri, ma questa sarà solo una scusa per ritornare! Non credo alloggerò in altre strutture quando tornerò a Kyoto.

We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

The host was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was always friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect for me since I was attending a conference at the international conference centre (20 minute walk). The facilities were excellent for the price.

This guest house is will be the best choice. The host tommy is very kind and mindful. He speaks english very well, so someone who didn't speak japanese will be satified. Also, the domitory bed was very nice. It's cozy and comfotable. And Tommy will give you breakfast If you request. The toast was tasty. I recommend this guest house, you will not regret your choice. Took the double room deluxe, I slept near the window it was one of the most memorable sleep, u can feel the history of the old japan.

Chieri en haar moeder en hun schattige hond zijn hele lieve hosts die er alles aan doen om je verblijf een echte authentieke Japanse ervaring te laten zijn. Hun huis is prachtig ingericht, ruim en voelt heel fijn en gastvrij. Het café en de biertuin van Chieri zijn ook zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Het eten en drinken en het gratis Japanse ontbijt waren heerlijk. En als je nog authentieke Japanse souvenirs zoekt zijn die hier ook te vinden. Al met al een perfecte plek om even tot rust te komen na het bezoeken van de drukke steden als Kyoto en Osaka.

I had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb in Kyoto! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help out with any questions or needs. The location is great – it’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest station and equally close to popular spots like Sanjo and Nishiki Market, making it easy to explore the area. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the breakfast. It wasn’t just a standard continental breakfast – each morning, they prepared a full, delicious spread for every guest, which was such a treat to start the day. You could really feel the care and effort they put into making everyone feel at home. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The only minor issue was the washer and dryer, which are a bit dated. The dryer took a while to dry a half load, so I’d recommend doing smaller loads or planning laundry for when you have some time to hang out. Overall, I loved my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting!

het huis is prachtig, vooral de familiekamer is erg de moeite. de badkamer is gemeenschappelijk maar dit gaf nooit problemen. het ontbijt was echt voortreffelijk, het personeel één voor één heel sympathiek. ok wil heel graag terug.

Staying at John’s place in Shiga was an unforgettable experience! John is an incredibly passionate and energetic host, always full of enthusiasm. He and his lovely wife, Rika, made me feel right at home. They even invited me to join their family for a delicious homemade dinner, and Rika kindly provided breakfast as well. Their son, Andre, was also very friendly, and I truly enjoyed our conversations. The house itself is a charming countryside cottage surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a perfect getaway. If you’re visiting Shiga, staying with John is an absolute must! Highly recommended!
