If you are looking for a little more activity take advantage of the outdoors with harbour, beach and local walks close by.

Camping with a cabin...! Now with a outdoor bath. Enjoy the peace and quiet of your very own camping spot. Everything provided....just arrive. Instead of putting up a tent...a little cabin room is ready for you. Comfy dbl bed with mosquito net meaning you can sleep with doors wide open all night. Wake up to stunning views over ocean and islands - just a 5min walk through the paddock to the secluded beach. Hot shower under the stars. Outdoor bath to soak away the cares. Seperate toilet.

Surrounded by Pohutukawa and native bush, We are on the doorstep to the pristine Ohiwa Beach, Opotiki. Relax in the garden or explore a number of scenic walking tracks with spectacular ocean and harbour views.

Kotare Lakeside Studio

You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Right on the edge of the beautiful lake Rotoiti. Relax to the sound of the lapping waves and native bird song. Bifold doors open onto your private deck right by the waters edge. Park your boat/jet ski on the jetty ready for your next adventure AND you can even bring your fur child with you. Outside bath is "rustic" Outstanding bush walks, water falls, hot pools, glow worms and only 20 mins from Rotorua. We wash your dishes!

Take a relaxing break from your travels or use the studio as a base for your visit to the area. Handy to the beach, golf course, town, shopping centre, Hospital, walkways, and cycle tracks. In a secluded cul-de-sac just 150 metres walk from Coastlands beach. A kitchenette with some cooking appliances (Electric Fry pan, Air fryer, Microwave, and more) together with a fridge/freezer make this studio an ideal location for a self-contained visit in an ideal location for a relaxing break.

Nestled behind the sand dunes and with direct access onto Hukuwai Beach and Motu Dunes Trail - Hukuwai Beach Cottage is the perfect location for couples wanting to unwind with quiet beach walks and/or biking. Our modern luxury cottage is fully equipped with quality linen, furniture, and fittings. After a beach swim/walk, bike ride or surf you can cool off under the outside shower and relax in the courtyard/garden with a cold drink. Located on SH35 only 2 minutes' drive from Opotiki.

The Observatory, Semi Self-Contained Unit

We welcome you to our home, which has views of the ocean and farmland. The guest area is located on the ground floor. Only a 10 minute stroll into the township of Whakatane, and five minute drive to Ohope Beach, voted one of the safest surf beaches in NZ. The entrance to the famous Nga Tapuwai O Toi walking track is only 2 minutes from our home. If you are into astronomy, the Whakatane Observatory is steps away from our property, open to the public Tuesday and Friday evenings.

Longview Cottage - peace and quiet.

My place is close to beaches, bush and the famous Motu cycle way. You’ll love my place because of the friendly welcome, the little extras AND the comfy bed!! Only 2 hours driving from either Tauranga, Rotorua or Gisborne - a good resting point. Lovely quiet cottage set on lifestyle block with many chickens and sheep. 3 minutes driving to fabulous Waiotahi beach and only 10 minutes into Opotiki for cafes and shopping. Peace and tranquility - leave the city behind.

Ohope at it's best, loved family home

Our beach house is a real treasure. Over the last 10 years we have worked hard towards what it is today and would love to share this little piece of paradise. It has easy indoor/outdoor flow and beachy interior. The beach is across the road, through the dunes and onto the beach. The house is easy living with all the modern cons and a few games to match. It has 3 bedrooms with one bedroom set up Marae style which sleeps 5. The other 2 bedrooms have a king bed each.

Bush haven private studio

Surrounded by the bush, our unique cosy studio is a welcome retreat. Breakfast and good coffee is provided for our guests. Situated at the top of a hill with good views. We are within walking distance to the beautiful Nga Tapuwai o Toi walking track, 5 mins drive to Ohope beach and Whakatane town. Listen to the call of native birds, including Kiwi. Sit on the deck and watch the sun go down. This is a great place to unwind and relax.
