SoMa (South of Market Street, or SoMa) is an urban neighborhood with lots of newer residences, businesses, some shopping, good food, and nightlife.

This up and comeing downtown neighborhood is a high density residential community with intermixed businesses and storefronts. This area has a somewhat smaller downtown vibe being outside of the Financial Disrtrict and shows a more authentic side of San Francisco.

This is one of my favorites areas in the city. Fantastic dance clubs, bars and a warehouse district feel along with good food that isn't a grand price, unless you want fancy which is available.
