The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

The Shelter

With wooden interior and carpeted floors with free standing fireplace, our accomodation is both spacious yet cosy. The master bedroom has a cabin feel to it with a comfy bed and views out onto farmland. The Loft is a spacious cosy area with low ceilings which the teenagers will love but tall people may not enjoy it as it's only about 1.75 cm at the highest point . large couches for watching netflix or relaxing on the deck. we are not set up for young children and think it's best suited to 8+ age

Cute & Cosy Oeo Country Cottage - no cleaning fee

This rural getaway is situated between Opunake & Manaia on Surf highway 45. Older but cosy cottage with 3 bedrooms on our dairy farm. Clean with lovely linen & comfy beds. Good base - 30 mins to Mt Taranaki, 10 mins to Opunake. Close proximity to lots of surf breaks, Pihama lavender farm, Mt Taranaki and many other amazing adventures & scenery. Ask us for directions to walk over the farm & down the farm beach. FB @maollafarms. Longer term rental available - not doing short stays currently.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. The studio is separate, fully fenced, lovely and private. It includes a relaxing little Zen garden area. The TV has all of the subscriptions. The kitchenette has a microwave, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, coffee pods, kettle & fridge. The stunning Oakura surf beach and Black Sand Pizzeria is just a 15 minute walk away, the cute little Oakura village, cafes and restaurants, a 12 minute walk away, and the Kaitake Ranges a 15 minute walk.

Welcome to Kaupokonui Cottage – built in the early 1900s and set on a private hedge lined property, this cosy homestead is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Ideal for families, groups of friends, or someone simply wanting some space to getaway.  Conveniently located close to the Kaupokonui beach, a short drive to Manaia township and a quick trip to Hawera or Opunake, the cottage makes a great base to explore all that South Taranaki has to offer.

Either relaxing inside enjoying a coffee from the breville barista coffee machine or outside on the deck with a beverage enjoying the ocean view this brand new tastefully decorated house is sure to impress. If you love the sound of the ocean this is the place to be. Overlooking the coastal walkway and a five minute walk to the beach or into town why would you want to stay anywhere else. Please note this is not suitable for children under 5.

Detached from the main house, this is a sleepout/studio. Guests love the quiet and secure neighbourhood location. Local shopping centre with supermarket, chemist and library are 10mins walk/5mins drive from the house. We are a 5mins drive from NP airport/10mins drive to New Plymouth CBD and approx 30mins drive to Mt Taranaki. Walking distance to Bell Block Beach and the scenic Coastal Walkway from Bell Block to NP in an hour. Great for a weekend/short visit to the region.

The Black Yurt

MAX OCCUPANCY 2 Adults & 2 Children under 12 The Black Yurt is situated within Oakura. The surf beach, a number of cafes/restaurants, a pharmacy and a convenience store are within walking distance. Several hiking trails can be found nearby. Accessible via a private staircase, this yurt offers you a comfortable king-size bed, lounge area and kitchenette. The bath and shower are outdoors. A separate small building contains the toilet.
