WE AIN'T THE RITZ. It's an old shack, one of Potrero's oldest. It's bigger than it looks from the street. It's on a 28.6% grade hill (don't worry, it takes 45% to tip a car). It's a 3-unit place but the lower 2 units are under construction (albeit not during the holidays), so it's a bit dusty in here.

El espacio
We've got a very open floor plan. There's a half-door separating our bed from the other guest bedroom with the queen-size bed. The second guest bedroom with the twin-size bed is accessed from halfway up the staircase, through a window (it's a bunk bed with no ladder). It is not the house for everyone. But hey, at least we've put a door on the bathroom!

We don't have A/C and the heat doesn't really work, but we're in the warmest neighborhood in the city, so we just deal with it. The back door doesn't close entirely but is not easily accessible to anyone. The back deck is strictly off-limits. The backyard can be accessed by the very tall and very flexible, but requires going through the construction area. That's all OK, though, because there are three great parks within a stone's throw!

Ubicación

San Francisco, California, Estados Unidos

We have a ton of parks, gardens and hills. I have four areas I garden in the immediate area. We're right by SF General Hospital and the Mission District, most notably Calle 24 where great tacos and tamales can be had.

Hiking & biking around town, live music (especially metal), cheap wine, fancy beer, yoga in parks, hunting hot springs in the wild (ask me for my list if you'll ever be visiting the Sierras). My life motto, as the website suggests sharing?: there is no such thing as a sold out show. At home, when I'm not working or sleeping, I'm up to all of the above + gardening, salsa dancing, local politics. When I travel, I spent a lot of time outside walking and exploring and generally come home just to sleep. I can walk endlessly in search of the best restaurants, chill bars, parks, botanical gardens, and concerts. I'm not so into museums, shopping, and tourist attractions. My absolute favorite places I've traveled, in order: Italy (could not walk enough to be hungry enough to eat all I wanted to eat; will bring road bike on next trip), France (solo X-mas road trip on back roads from Paris to Marseille ISO the best bouillabaisse!), Pakistan, Iceland, Turkey. I do enjoy traveling with the husband and friends, but honestly (sorry dear husband and friends!) my favorite trips were solo trips. I learn more about an area's culture when I'm on my own. I can spent 3 hours looking at & trying to photograph something *exactly* right without worrying about annoying my traveling partners. Or nap among rose bushes in a traffic circle. Or change my itinerary five thousand times, or not have an itinerary at all.

Durante tu estadía
Husband Michael works from home one day a week. Wife Brynn works from home Monday thru Friday starting at 8am, typically leaving to finish the work day off-site around 2pm. We're at home in the evening about half the time. Given the house's state, we don't cook much; but everything's functional and you're welcome to. There's a Whole Foods within walking distance.
