The studio has carpet and a small area of hard wood floor. It is freshly renovated. It is a very nicely designed space which looks out onto the upper private deck. The Kitchenette has a two-burner hot plate, a refrigerator (small freezer compartment), and kitchen sink . The built-in closet offers hanging space with hangers, shelves, and drawers. There is storage room for luggage. The ceiling is vaulted. The bathroom offers generous shelves. We provide iron & board, blow dryer.
Please note this studio is on the upper floor of a two-story building. A separate studio is directly below. Guests are encouraged to be quiet and respectful at all times. The studios are separate from each other. Each have their own private entrance and private outdoor space.
The studio is well insulated. There are three windows ( + one additional window in bathroom ) providing nice air-flow and cross-breeze.
We provide a fan for additional air control.

The keys for your studio will be in a lock-box with safe 24-hour access. We will give you clear directions on how to walk to the alley behind our house and the back gate for your private entrance to the property. This is your private access. In front of the tower studio is a beautiful private upper deck with garden furniture and umbrella.

We live right in the heart of the famous Northpark District with its lively hipster scene. Our property is one block away from the North East corner of Balboa Park. This neighborhood is exciting as everything is in walking -distance: public swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, frisbee golf course.

Our studio is right in the heart of Northpark Morley field (North East corner of Balboa Park) and only 4 blocks away from exciting restaurants, coffee shops and breweries.

I am a filmmaker, photographer and professor. My wife is an illustrator and painter. Our whole lives revolve around art, art making, and teaching art. We have a wonderful garden next to our house and studio. Meeting people from different countries is wonderful for us as we speak, English, German, Italian, and some French. When we go on vacation we spend Summers on Cape Cod right next to the ocean. We also like to travel to New Mexico and the Santa Fe area. Our son is currently a student in San Francisco. That is why this city has also become one of our frequent destinations. As for food: we love to cook healthy meals with fresh vegetables from our garden. Our house and the studios are all on a beautiful serene compound in Northpark.
