I have not been to their hotel although there is a chance they have a pretty good view and food since this is a fantastic location. Ask to go to their beach or pool for a luxurious day out! and I think they also have parties in the evenings!

Sightseeing

So much history! Spend the day visiting the Montagna Spaccata (“Splendid Mountain”), Castello Aragonese (Castle of Aragon), and the bell tower of the Cathedral (famously built in the 13th century, re-using ancient Roman architectural features; the city’s finest piece of art). Stay out into the evening and have a wonderful dinner too!

The famous Abbey, near the location of one of the most important battles of the second World War. You will also find the Polish cemetery here - where thousands of Poles and hundreds of Belarusians were buried after the Battle of Montecassino in May 1944 - about 50km away from Maranola.

Shopping

Formia offers amazing restaurants, some closer, more accessible beaches (although not as glamorous as Gaeta and Sperlonga's), and is the closest shopping center from Maranola. Head here to run errands, check out a few shops an stop for gelato on your way home. My favorite restaurants are listed under food scene and you can also find them at casamaranola.com

Essentials

There are not many places to go within Maranola for shopping but there is a small Alimentari da Enzo that should cover all of your essentials needs. There is also a butchers called Macelleria Carni Paesane. Should you want to eat out there is a small restaurant, Muntana D'Efusio that is a local gem and just around 35 Euros a person. You may also want to try La taverna del Cavaliere, also located in the village alleys, 35 Euros

Parks & Nature

If you have time, head down to the port of Formia or Gaeta and take a boat, hovercraft or sail to the islands of Ponza, Ventotene, and Ischia. They are absolutely breathtaking and you won't be disappointed!
