I strongly recommend this scenic spot. I uploades several pictures of Matushima from here, it is so beautiful, but you have to wake up 4 in the morning if you want to see sunrise from here in summer.

This is a secret scenic spot called Mastushima.
You can take sight seeing boat around this area for 55 minutes for 1500 JPY. We have over 260 islands around this area.

You may have read about Tamonzan already, across the Gulf Matsushima you can see this mountain from Tamonzan in this town when the weather is fine.
From both mountain you can see beautiful scenery.

You can see so many cats here. I have heard that we have several cat islands in Japan, but most of them are not easy to access. You can go there with bus,train, taxi, and ferry from here.
