Walkable from the house, Tredegar Iron Works (founded in 1837) has excellent interpretive exhibits. At the start of the Civil War, it was the only facility in the South capable of producing heavy ordnance or munitions.

Mansion and Estate – 100-acre Victorian country estate 1880’s estate with gorgeous gardens. Our favorite has been the Japanese and Italian gardens. Gardens are free. Tour of the mansion is around $5.
