Vlychada is an easily accessible beach by car or bus, located on the south coast of Santorini, 7 kilometers from Akrotiri. It stands out for the overwhelming carved cliffs that resemble a sculptor’s work but is, in fact, a natural process owed to the volcano, the wind and the sea. It is a lengthy beach with relatively shallow waters and dark volcanic sand and pebbles, like most beaches in Santorini. Not that crowded but organized with multiple sunbeds, straw umbrellas and a canteen, you can spend many relaxing hours here and cherish the spectacular sight all around. Merely this natural wonder makes it worthwhile.

Perissa-Perivolos are beautiful black sandy beaches with lots of sunbeds, restaurants, and shops! If you are by Perivolos beach, try 'Savvas Popeye' restaurant, for fresh mediterranean dishes!

Consejos para la ciudad

Cómo moverse

Car rental

Akrotiri is a place off the beaten track with a 3600 years old prehistoric city and a lighthouse where you can have the best panoramic view of the caldera and a unique option for a beautiful sunset! Our house is only 5 minutes walking from the main square of Akrotiri, where you can find good restaurants as Theofanis restaurant, Portobello and Akrothiri bistro (for breakfast and greek tapas). And only 5 minutes drive from the famous Red Beach.

Oia

Oia at the northernmost tip is the most beautiful and picturesque village but crowded during sunset time so you should better go either in the morning to walk around and take pics or take a reservation for a table with a sunset view! I strongly recommend Strogili restaurant on its rooftop! Amazing sunset view!

Pyrgos

Pyrgos village which is located right in the middle area of the island and elevated has a 360° view of the island and is one of the best preserved Medieval settlements on the island. Selene Meze Wine restaurant is definitely recommended and Cava Alta restaurant in the settlement too. You will find also in the village, friendly taverns with Greek traditional food like Brusco at the main square and Francos cafe on the top to see the sunset!
