Food scene & Watering Holes
Some of our favorite food related places. Some do serve food but known more for their drinks, fun, and local ambience.
This is the birthplace of our house coffee where the beans are roasted on site. Our favorite is “Mariposa Morning” but there are dozens of beans to choose from. Jerry (the owner) is great and will gladly show off his unique roasting style. Even though we’ve been dozens of times, we often look for an excuse to go back.

Sightseeing
We are near 2 of the 3 main entrances to Yosemite National Park. The drive to the middle "El Portal" entrance, runs through the town of Mariposa, continues along the Merced River and enters close to the Valley Floor while the southern entrance goes through the towns of Oakhurst and Fish Camp and enters the park very close to Wawona.

Hiking
Some of our favorite hikes outside of Yosemite. Hiking with dogs inside Yosemite is limited to paved trails on the valley floor - so here are some of our favorite trails in the national forest where dogs are welcome. Please look up on AllTrails to see difficulty levels. Also - please note that not all of the roads in these parts are fully paved. It is not unusual to travel on dirt roads to get to a trailhead.
