In the village

The village hall is in the centre of the village, on the green. It is open on alternate Sunday mornings with its casual cafe. Pop in for a bacon butty, or tea and cake after a walk. There is also a community bar open on Fridays 6-8pm for a drink with the locals. You are welcome to pop in.

The town's street sits astride the River Test, marking the border of the parishes of Stockbridge and Longstock by a low bridge of three arches. A lovely high street with mostly independent shops including a bakery, green grocer, butcher and fish monger. There are a good mix of restaurants and cafes. including The Greyhound and The Clos du Marquis. You can walk from the high street onto Stockbridge Down and along the River Test famous for it's fly fishing.
