We LOVE spending day at lake to kayak, hunt for frogs, sit on the beach, swim, play games, and picnic! Bring your own kayak or rent one at the lodge. (Please call ahead to make sure they're open. 702.464.4197. Their hours are 7am to 7pm daily.) It costs about $5 cash to park at the docks. Just drive to the campgrounds to pay your fee and park at the dock. Remember to bring sunblock, insect repellent, and camping chairs. (If you have any, we have some in the closet at the end of the hall. Please clean and return them when finished. Thank you .)

This National Monument has breathtaking views and wonderful hikes and walks. It's Bruce's favorite! He loves to hike early in the morning here while everything is quiet and peaceful. A sunset hike is also truly amazing! I promise you'll want to take lots of pictures! A National Parks pass is required for entry. The forest service offers fun classes from time to time and has huge telescopes for star and planet gazing set up a few times throughout the summer. (Bring a jacket, because gets chilly at night, but it's incredible to get to see the planets and moon!)

Zion has many, many hikes and a creek running down the middle of the canyon. You'll get to drive through tunnels, swim or hike in the creek, and enjoy an adventurous day here! Our favorite hike is "The Narrows." It's too dangerous if there's possibilty of rain, but on dry days, it's a blast to hike up the creek with the canyon walls surrounding you. Be sure to reserve your spot online ahead of time and take food, sunblock, insect repellent, water-proof for your belongings, water and/or hiking shoes, water, and your National Parks pass.

Mammoth Spring is in our community and is within walkong distance. It's fun to see the water bubbling up from the earth, and the kids love to hop rocks up and down the creek. Upstream a few minutes walking distance, you'll find a fun rope stream we've spent many fun hours on. Some years there is water in the creek, and some not. Take water, sun block, insect repellent, a picnic, water and/or hiking shoes, and your camera. It's a beautiful, calm spot with fun to be had!

This is the creek just down the hill from us. It's a beautiful spot and good for fishing for trout. It's enjoyable also to just find a rock to sit on and listen to the rolling water. Fishing supplies and licenses can be purchased at Duck Creek, Cedar City (far away), and Panguitch Lake.

These Caves are lava tubes. There is 1 large one you can walk through the whole way possibly ducking at times. The other 2 caves require crouching and crawling. The smaller Caves have exits at the end. You would definitely need good flashlights as well as sturdy hiking shoes and a sweatshirt. Prepare to get muddy!. The kids love to explore and adults do as well. You might want to bring a picnic with your drinking water.

Aspen mirror lake is a picturesque spot. There is fishing as well as walks around the lake. Kids like to hop rocks in the Creek and try to catch garter snakes. If you walk along the Creek on the far side you will get to a tree swing that the kids have tons of fun on! It's a bit dangerous but quite a thrill! The lake is about a five minute walk from the parking area.

Our neighborhood has many cabins that run along mammoth Creek. At more popular times people will drive their ATV's along the road. The dirt roads make for really nice walks And it's a beautiful spot with lots of large Forest Trees.
