Food Scene

This is Walla Walla's Mexican food "Yin" to Taqueria Yungapeti's "Yang", in our book. As much as TY is an excellent Taco-Truck style restaurant choice, you can't go wrong with La Ramada as the place for your family dining Mexican restaurant experience! (The family-like setting doesn't mean they can't make a mean margarita, though!) They have daily lunch and dinner specials, friendly service, and bang-for-your-buck portions (warning: the Quesadilla is a MEAL, not an appetizer!). Worth the very short drive East from downtown.

By far the best "taco-truck-style" Mexican food you will find north of the border. Could NOT be more authentic. We've tried Mexican cuisine from San Diego to Seattle, spanning the spectrum between hot plate family dining to the smallest of taco trucks, and have yet to find something we enjoy more than "TY". Eat there. Often. They even have a drive-thru, all-day breakfast burritos, and a salsa bar! Nothing fancy about this place. Better for a quick authentic bite than a highbrow dining experience. Highly recommended! Note: the same family owns and operates "Mi Pueblito", if you find yourself on the other end of town, located at 1633 E Isaacs Ave, Walla Walla WA 99362.

From their website: Jacobi's brings “family owned and operated to a new level, continually extending their Italian hospitality and feeding guests the hearty, authentic recipes the Cannone family has passed down from generation to generation. When you visit Jacobi’s Café, you are invited to experience the history of one of Walla Walla’s most iconic buildings (The Depot) while you dine like a true Italian; like you’re a part of the family."

Drinks & Nightlife

Sports bar and pub eatery in downtown, complete with many beers and ciders on tap, weekend dancing, trivia night, bouncers, all the sports channels, etc. If you want the same vibe but in a quieter, more laid-back atmosphere, the Stone Hut across town is owned by the same people, and caters more to the hole-in-the-wall sports bar crowd than the bar-hopping weekend warriors. Both places boast very friendly servers.

Honestly, we can't recall a day in our lives when this place wasn't around! Rather than disclosing our age, read this instead, from their website: "The Green Lantern has been Walla Walla's watering hole since the dawn of good times, a crossroads for farmers, academics, hillbillies, carpetbaggers and malingerers of every ilk."

Welcome to the oldest-running music store in Eastern Washington. We shopped here during our teen years. Check it out! HUGE selection of vinyl, too. Amazing to see a record store these days, period!... let alone one that has been around this long. Warning: this place is PACKED to the gills with music media, and smells like incense 24/7 ;-)
