There is a trail that will take about 30 min. to 45 min. for you to get from the parking area to the bar so allow for that. It is worth the hike in and out.

Fabulous was to get an unguided ocean based tour of Stonington and the Islands to Isle au Haut. This is how the island residents get to the island so expect just about anything on the boat. Check schedules. About half of Isle au Haut is owned and managed by Acadia National Park. There are no cars on the island but you can take a bike. There are roads both tarred and gravel.

During the winter, entry is on the side too. It's in a renovated old building, very comfortable inside with nice seating. The food is great!
