There are selection of casual eateries here if you are looking for something quick and easy. Currently open from 3pm to 8pm. Go early to beat the rush in height of summer. Can be an hour wait for burgers from 6.30pm on. Great for the kids and in summer there can be some entrainment going on for the campers.
There is also a takeaway coffee place if the village cafe is too busy.

Cathedral Cove walk. This popular track hugs the coast, providing dramatic views of spectacular coastal scenery along its length, finishing at the beach beneath an impressive rock archway.
The track begins at a drop-off area at the end of Grange Road or from the northern end of Hahei Beach (an extra 20 minutes each way).
The car park at the start of the track is closed from 1 October to 30 April. Walk via the beach to the start of the walk, or use the park & ride shuttle bus from the carpark at the entrance of the village. If go left from the property follow the carpark signs on foot to get there.
Otherwise you can take the Cathedral Cove Water Taxi $15 per person one way from the beach.

Best to do when the winds from the west and seas calm. Lots of sea-life to see including good size snapper. You can look but don’t touch.

A must for the kids. Drive to Ferry Landing and jump on the ferry to Whitianga. You can take your bikes on board. Regular service through the summer Between Ferry Landing & Whitianga
Ferry Operating Hours:
7.30am – 7.25pm
& 8.30pm – 10.25pm
*Every day of the week*
The last ferry will depart Whitianga Wharf
at 7.25pm before the dinner break
and at 10.25pm before the end of the day’s service.
It will then return to Whitianga Wharf.
