Joshua Tree things to do
Coyote Corner has lots of traditional souvenir items like magnets and a great selection of desert books. If you’re camping in the park, definitely take note of this place because not only do they stock some camping supplies you may have forgotten, they also have a bank of showers that you can pay to use! They have the best handmade incense ever.

On Saturday mornings, there is a very nice Farmers Market in Joshua Tree on Hwy 62. This is a Certified Farmers Market, so there are strict rules - the merchants can only sell locally grown or created items. They have excellent produce for those who have access to a kitchen - or you can get some locally pickled garlic in a jar to take home.

Thrift Store

Located in Yucca Valley, this festive little shop is hard to miss with its eye-catching, bright murals, garlands of paper tassels and painted rocks festooning the front walk. I have found many vintage scores here over the years, but this time I was particularly enamored with the selection of vintage turquoise jewelry.

Sound Bath

Quirky but relaxing! The Integratron structure is a machine that was the creation of George Van Tassel, and is based on the design of Moses' Tabernacle, and the science of Nikola Tesla. This one-of-a-kind building is a 38-foot high, 55-foot diameter, non-metallic structure originally designed as a rejuvenation and time machine. Today, it is the only all-wood, acoustically perfect sound chamber in the U.S. You have to reserve sound baths way ahead!

Outdoor Pop Art Museum

Noah Purifoy's Outdoor Desert Art Museum of Assemblage Sculpture in Joshua Tree is a very worthy place to visit. Here, you can see in-situ large-scale sculptures by Noah Purifoy on the desert floor. The Foundation also offers tours.

Sightseeing

Sky’s The Limit is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hands-on learning opportunities for the people of and visitors to the Joshua Tree Gateway Communities. We provide a place where the honest pursuit of knowledge enriches the lives of all willing to participate, whether to view the smallest objects on the Earth, or observe the colossal displays in the sky. Free public star parties are on the Saturday nights when the moon is not full (or so bright that it obscures the stars). These sessions start about an hour after sunset and last approximately two hours. (Check the Calendar page for exact dates and times.)
