Air Conditioning

The aircon can be controlled using the thermostat panel on the wall in the hallway, located on the main floor. We always maintain the temperature at around 72F -74F and it should not be necessary to adjust it beyond that range. There is a small additional air conditioning unit in the upstairs loft. This can be used to help cool down the second floor quicker, if any of those guest’s desire. Please ensure all doors and windows are closed while these units are running, otherwise it will not operate efficiently.

Our kitchen is fully equipped. You’ll find, amongst other things, a fridge/freezer, microwave, stove, cookware, etc. Should you have any questions before (or during) your stay please let us know.

Laundry Equipment

Just pass the kitchen is a laundry room with separate washer and dryer. Above the washer and dryer is cabinet space in which you will find detergent and dryer sheets. Operation of the unit is very simple, with controls for each setting and a start button. If you are looking for instructions on how to use the washer, it is posted in the cabinet above washer.

Games at the Home

You will find several board games in the bottom of the hutch and buffet. There are cards, office supplies, coloring books found in the drawers of the hutch and buffet. There are also a couple of drawers in the buffet that have toys and books. If you want to use the Wii game system, please ensure the TV source is switched to HDMI which you do from the “INPUT” button on the TV remote control or on the TV itself.

What you will find at the house

The cabin is furnished for normal housekeeping and is also stocked with limited paper goods, garbage bags, soaps, basic spices, and some condiments. Bring your own food, toiletries, and anything that is favorite you can't live without (pillows, coffee, etc).

Barbeque Grill

We provide a charcoal grill on the deck. There is a set of BBQ tools in the kitchen. Please clean grill after use and keep it covered when not in use to prevent wear and tear.

Fire Pit

No burning of pallets or furniture, clean firewood only No flammable liquids No glass or aluminum containers to be thrown in the fire Keep the fire small Never leave fire unattended Contain fire in ring Douse campfire with water to ensure it is completely extinguished before leaving ** We try to keep firewood stacked up by the fire pit and/or by the front steps. If you find yourself low on firewood, you can find plenty more of it throughout the property/woods we live on. If you don't feel adventurous, firewood can be purchased at local gas stations or Food City.

Beds/Linens

The beds have been freshly made up for your stay. Towels can be found under the bathroom sink in both the main floor and upstairs bathroom. There are linens and pillows for the pullout couch in the closet of the bedroom next to the loft. On your departure day, please strip all used beds sheets and place in the laundry basket.

Garbage Disposal

Please bring all your garbage down to the trash container, that is next to the mailbox. Be sure to strap down the garbage can lid to help deter wild animals from tearing up the garbage. *****Trash day is Thursday (pick up is before 7am).

Coffee

Our guests will find two type of coffee makers at our home. We have a Keurig coffee maker and then the standard 10 cup coffee pot. We do have coffee filters and some coffee grounds, as well as a couple of starter K-cups if you choose to use the Keurig. If you have a particular flavor/brand of coffee you use, we recommend bringing it with you.

No Smoking - Vaping inside our home

We ask that you please do not smoke / vape in the cabin, but feel free to smoke outside. Don’t leave your cigarette butts behind. Please dispose of them properly. There is an ashtray provided for you outside.

We have a strict “No Pet Policy” to accommodate all guests for allergy/health reasons.

This will result in a fee. Remediation of the problems (i.e. scratches/ scuffs on the flooring / walls, furniture damaged) will be applied to your account. This fee could be substantial. And you will be charged for all materials & labor to correct.
