Neighborhoods

Kihei Town is a laid-back area of South Maui. It stretches along the coast with miles of beaches great for swimming, surfing, windsurfing and snorkeling. You won't find the touristy hotels here! Just locals and vacationers enjoying all that Maui has to offer.

Food scene

This "hole in the wall" has some of the best breakfast and lunches on the island (IMHO)! You have to stand in line, order, then get served outside. They have large portions and super nice servers. If you get here past 8AM, you'll have a wait, but it's worth it! They now have three locations, the original at Kalama Village, one in Lahaina and one at the Maui Coast Hotel. Our favorites are the omlettes and Banana Mac pancakes with Coconut syrup and a hot cup of freshly brewed island coffee!

Sightseeing

This is our favorite beach for snorkeling in the morning and bbqing in the evening! The waves calm first thing in the morning (think 7 am). Snorkeling is best at the southern end of the beach. You will see Sea Turtles, lots of fish, and an occasional eel. We once saw a sand shark as well!
