Food Scene

The Bunkhouse is well worth the 15-20 minute drive from Cheyenne, if you want a great steak or burger with a true Wyoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, the decor is authentic, and the house band plays every Friday and Saturday night. Because the restaurant is outside City limits, smoking is still allowed, but it is not overpowering, and well worth it to sit on the main bar/dance floor side.

This is one of the few options in Cheyenne for cuisine beyond the typical American/Mexican/Chinese restaurants that you can find anywhere. Their curries and noodle dishes are both great, and if you like spice, ask for the chili and relish tray to heat it up!

This is a home-town gem, where you can be served breakfast or lunch inside of an old rail car. It's a small place which may have a wait, but if you want home-style cooking with a diner atmosphere, this is the place. Located on the historic Lincoln Highway, look for it right under the big indian.

Wasabi offers hibachi grills which is fun for group events, as well as very good sushi. It is reasonably priced for a sushi restaurant, and the food and drinks are great.

Drinks & Nightlife

The Albany is right on the plaza downtown (next to the historic Wrangler store), and is a fun place to stop for a drink or a few. The food is also great if you make it for dinner. There are pool and foosball tables, a jukebox, and an eclectic crowd.

The sign says Anderson's Other Corner, but the bar is known by locals as Midtown Tavern. The entrance is just off the parking lot, behind the liquor store. This might appear at first glance as a bit of a dive, but is one of our favorite bars in town. Offering $1 beers, darts, and a jukebox, this is a great place to grab a seat at the bar and stay for awhile. Try a Pershing Popper shot!

I would only recommend the Outlaw during Frontier Days, but if you want the full experience, this huge venue is the post-concert place to be. There are multiple stages with live music, dancing, a mechanical bull, and several bars. There will be a cover charge, and the place will likely be packed.

Brand new to Cheyenne, this taphouse has a unique self-serve option. They have several taps of awesome specialty beer, and you can pour your own, and get charged by the ounce. Great if you want to taste everything. They also serve awesome wings and ribs with all kinds of different sauce options. Super fun!

About a mile from our house, this is a great park to go for a walk or jog, or visit the Botanic Gardens or Children's Village inside the park.
