The local traditional lunch or dinner is made of some pasta with tomato or peas, or pasta and broth, and then a selection of roasted and/or boiled meat with pearà (a very local pepper broth dried bread slightly spicy sauce), or salsa verde (a mild sauce parsley based) or mostarda di frutta (spicy pieces of caramelized fruit with mustard). You do need a hearthy glass of red wine and some time. Dessert are addictive. Do not go there if you cannot handle a large amount of calories and if you have to work afterwards. But being in Verona and not going there .... well... Reservations recommended.

A must-go. The coffee and the bakery are excellent (stand up place with 2 only 2 tables outside).
My favourite are the zaletti (polenta and raisin cake) risino (made with local rice), salame di cioccolato (chocolate salami) the torta russa, the torta di romeo and the torta di giulietta.
If you are in a mood for salty food, try the croissant with ham or mortadella.
The look of the place is not very contemporary (they have redone the place in 2022 but somehow they managed to make it look very '70s), but do not let the look fool you. Mariuccia (an older lady) can be sometimes impredictable; do not be surprised, it is just the way she is; a very local character.
