Our favorite backwoods bar and restaurant! It is about a 40 minute drive from our home, but the drive is worth it! It is a gorgeous drive with many opportunities for little stops along the way. We recommend stopping by the Yaak Falls on your way up and if it's hot, stopping for a dip at the Yaak Falls campground. Once you're up there, Yaak Tavern has a huge outdoor area along a lazy part of the Yaak River. A very fun experience.

The Silver Spur is one of the nicer restaurant/bars in Troy. Along with having a decent bar with a pool table, they also have a full service, sit-down restaurant that serves standard American fare.

Troy's only fast food restaurant. We highly recommend getting a scoop of their huckleberry ice cream or getting a huckleberry shake. It tastes so right on a hot summer day.

Troy's go-to coffee shop! Main Street Perk & Pub also has breakfast burritos and lunch wraps, and is now serving beer and wine. You can drive through or go in and sit down in their well-decorated space.

Cabinet Mountain Brewing is the first brewery owned by women in Montana! If you're in Libby, we highly recommend stopping at their establishment, sitting on the patio, and getting a brewski.

Under the Sun is a gem of a store and one of our favorite places to stop in Bonners Ferry. The place has an eclectic mix of home goods and gifts, as well as a coffee shop and bistro in the back part of the store. It continues to shock us that it's been around for more than 10 years in an old logging town. Highly recommend stopping on your way to Troy or when you're departing Troy.

This is a great bar and restaurant to stop out as part of your trip to Bull Lake or Ross Creek Cedars. They serve food and often have concerts in the summer.

Grill at the Kootenai River Homestead!

We have a propane grill set up and ready for guests to use. The cover photo for this guidebook is carne asada at our home. One of the best restaurant experiences in the area is grilling at the homestead and eating on the deck overlooking the river! :)
