This exquisite town is on the edge of the Cotswolds facing the River Avon. The ancient bridge in the centre of the town remains its natural focus and the bridge still retains two of its original 13th century arches. It also sits next to the canal and you can hire bikes or walk along the canal and enjoy the beauty and peace of the countryside here. There are wonderful things to see, eat and visit. Recommended for a couple of hours. The train ride is only 10 minutes from Bath. On the way back, why not stop off at the wonderful village of Freshford nestled by the river Frome ideal for long lazy walks in the ancient woodland then a swift drink in the historic Freshford Inn.

Bath became a World Heritage Site in 1987, largely because of its architectural history and the way in which the city landscape draws together public and private buildings and spaces. Walking around the City Centre will give a good feel for the Georgian style, but don’t miss the famous Royal Crescent, Great Pulteney Street, Pulteney Bridge and The Circus.
