Sightseeing

Stanage Edge can be seen from the garden. 5km by any mode of transport including legs will get you there and it is stunning and diverse. the Edge once you have climbed up is around 3km long and flat and offers the best views. you can even cycle all the way to the top using the green lane. In addition there is a brook running through a deciduous woodland idea for shelter, getting out of the sun, playing, climbing and picnicing.

Another great Peak District Edge and a 20 min drive away. An easy climb up as you can park almost at the top. There is a great deal of local archaeological interest here with Cairns, Round House remains, Cup and Ring stones and more. for all this it is so close to other local beauty spots it ends up very under populated compared to Curbar, Stanage and Higger Tor so ideal for a romantic walk or if you just fancy being alone.
