Uvongo is a tranquil little village on the Lower South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. It has one of the most picturesque beaches of all, winding back around to a huge open beach protected by a sheer rock face that has been carved out over millennia by the unique "Uvongo falls" visible just a 100m further up the Vungu river.

Looking for some vibrant, energetic nightlife with a pub or 2, followed by a great meal in one of the many restaurants, then Margate is just the place to go. Only 5km down the coast.

Departing every Saturday morning @ 8am from St Michaels on Sea parking lot just 2km up the beach.
Hint: Get there early as parking can be an issue (or why not simply walk as a warm-up . . . ?

Just a 500m walk across the main beach to the Uvongo Pier will bring you to the start of the very popular Lilliecrona Boulevard among fitness enthusiasts.
This stretch of road is flat, scenic and carries very light traffic.
Start at the Uvongo Pier and loop back after 2,5 km's at Lucien Beach for the perfect 5 km walk, jog, run or cycle.
Note: Can be windy, so be prepared.

B) Continue on after your 'pit-stop' @ C-Bali and head to Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club (along the beach and 1.5 km further). Enjoy brunch on the patio while watching the ski boats launch. Return (7 km walk).
C) Have somebody collect you @ the Ski Boat Club and drive back (3.5 km walk).

Pack some water and head-out early on this scenic walk incorporating beach, rocks, tidal pools and grassy walkways.
Do not be in a hurry, as the kids may want to explore the many rock pools along the way.
Tailor-make this walk as follows:
