This really is a local's secret! Fantastic place for fresh produce and sampling lots of foodie delights. Lovely atmosphere on a sunny Sunday morning. Great for little kids too, there's toys that are provided on the lawns for kids to play with.

Walk up stairs to the trails. Enjoy a short bushwalk or run here first thing in the morning, a great way to start your day. You can walk through the trails to South Hobart too.

Walk up stairs to the trails. Enjoy a short bushwalk or run here first thing in the morning, a great way to start your day. You can walk through the trails to South Hobart too.

Just one of our fav local beaches, especially the dog beach, down the far end where the river meets the sea. Amazing for little kids, lots of little shallow pools that get pretty warm in Summer. Good short walk options from the beach to Alum Cliffs and Boronia Beach on the other side of beach.

This is a lovely, gentle walk (or even better as a bike ride) in the beautiful area of Ferntree. As the name suggests, the walk in flanked with ferns. Recommend starting and finishing at the Ferntree Tavern and treating yourself to an amazing cake apres walk.

Shhh, this really is a secret. Beautiful water hole, about 30 min drive from Hobart. Great place for a refreshing swim on those rare hot hot days.

Pack your puffa jacket and if you've got the time, it's nice to take a few hours to walk up from the bottom. Not difficult and yet hardly anyone does it! Lovely amble through the bush and well deserved viewing spot from the top.
