Spanning 22km long, the wonderfully majestic Maligne Lake is the on of the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies.
For some its blue waters can be a little too cold for swimming, but there are many other activities to do in the Maligne Valley including: some hiking trails, biking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boat tours to Spirit Island.
If you are feeling exceptionally adventurous and outdoorsy, the 44km Skyline Trail begins at Maligne Lake and finishes near the town of Jasper. Make sure to bring your camera, it's one of the most photogenic places in Jasper National Park! an experience you wont forget.

Marmot Basin is an alpine ski area located in Alberta's Jasper National Park. Marmot Basin has 91 named runs on four mountain faces with 3,000 vertical feet of drop. The area has a lift capacity of close to 12,000 skiers per hour on seven lifts. The season runs from mid-November to early May.

Built over several years through volunteer effort with corporate support, the attraction features more than three kilometres of boardwalk, seating areas, and interpretive signs. Numbers of beavers vary from year to year, but at times there are upwards of a dozen in the area. The boardwalk meanders through marshland and fens, bringing visitors close to the active beaver dam and lodge.
Visiting in the warm weather months, early morning or evening is the best time to see the beavers hard at work. Numerous species of birds, butterflies, as well as deer frequent the boardwalk area and surrounding trail systems.
