Parks & Nature

Huge park. The zoo is right next to the park, and when the elephants are out of their "house", you can see them just as close as if you were in the zoo.

Hidden gem. It looks like a closed shop from the outside, but when you enter, it is a teleport to a warm, tropical and vibrant place. With huge lava drinks.

Food Scene

Best "smørebrød" in town. If you haven't gotten used to the dark Danish rye bread yet, you will. Get there for lunch, and the tables outside will be warm and sunny. The chicken "salad" is my favorite. And with their elderflower soda to drink, it is perfect. The place is a bit alternative, and is decorated as a typical old Danish pub (without the drunks in the bar, and the cigarette smoke).

The Swedish corner. Their motto is: "We prepare and serve our food the way our grandmothers taught us." All homemade and mostly organic. The place is very unique, with a... different decor. They open for late breakfast/brunch and are open 'till midnight. Their brunch is great, so is their regular food. And they have a lot of different beer on tap.

Everything Else

The bridge between the inner city and Nørrebro. When the sun is out, the sunny sidewalk will be full of people relaxing with friends with a beer can in their hand. As you probably know, Copenhageners love their bikes. And they love music. So, you will most likely find people on their home-made cargo bikes with built-in speakers. If you are there by night, notice the cute neon Irma-hen laying eggs on one of the Nørrebro buildings. The sun rise and sunset are both amazing from this bridge.

Long time ago, Copenhagen was surrounded by a fortification. This is why we have the lakes around the inner city - for protection. Some parks are also remnants of this fortification, and the citadel are one of these (and it is actually still an active military area). Today, most of the area is open to the public, and it is great for a stroll on a sunny day. Not many tourists go there, they just quickly walk through, in order to get to the little mermaid. If you want touristy spots, the Langelinie Promenade, Gefion fountain and St. Alban’s English Church are within walking distance, and can be seen in a couple hours. The little mermaid is there too, of course, and even though she is tiny, why not go say hi.
