We love coming here to walk our dogs. It's a nice trail right along Padilla Bay. Nice views, gravelled trail good for walking or biking. We've seen see otters play in the water here, and there are always logs of birds.

This is where our favorite local Food Coop is carrying organic food and wares. It's also the regional center for financial, technology, cultural, legal, health care, education and government. Mount Vernon offers a vibrant mix of office, retail, restaurants and professional services on the banks of the beautiful Skagit River. Nestled between the San Juan Islands in the Puget Sound to the west and the Cascade Mountains with the scenic Cascade Loop drive to the east, Mount Vernon is known for its spectacular natural environment. It’s also home to the world-famous Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, which attracts one million visitors annually.

This is a famous bridge with killer views! This iconic bridge opened in 1935 and, depending on the tide, sits about 18 stories above the water creating a spectacular frame for this saltwater canyon. Beneath the waves, ocean waterfalls swirl through the canyon at the height of the tide changes. There are actually two bridges. Deception Pass Bridge extends from Whidbey Island to Canoe Island. Canoe Pass Bridge then span from Canoe Island to Fidlago Island. Collectively, they're called Deception Pass Bridge. You can find lots and lots of hikes and beaches in this area. It's only a 30 minute drive from here.

La Conner is one of those places in Washington State that people love to visit – time and time again. The reasons are many, but one that stands out is that there are so many things to do in – and around – La Conner! The Skagit Valley offers four seasons of activities, and La Conner offers interesting and fun activities nearly every weekend, all year long. Travel guides nearly always include the must-do things – like attending our Arts Alive! event in November, or our holiday boat parade, or the Classic Boat and Car Show in August. But there are lots of things to do and see in La Conner that you won’t find in any travel guide – things like finding one of the oldest European Birch Tree on the West Coast (planted in 1890), or visiting the only known totem pole carrying the likeness of a U.S. President.

We are located right by this famous, scenic route! Hugging the shoreline just south of Bellingham, Chuckanut Drive is Washington State's original scenic byway. Shown on maps as WA State Highway 11, the route begins at I-5 exit 231 in Burlington and continues 20 miles north to Bellingham. This is a favorite and historic entry into Whatcom County. Completed in 1896, Chuckanut Drive was the first land access to the Bellingham Bay community of Fairhaven. At milepost 14, Chuckanut Drive passes Larrabee State Park, the first designated State Park in Washington. With access to the beach, tidepools, and trails. Encompassing 2,000+ acres, Larrabee is a favorite among locals and tourists. Chuckanut Drive ends in the Historic Fairhaven District, known for its Victorian-era red-brick architecture, quaint shops and delcious restaurants.
