A non-motorarized (bicycle) meca. Depending on the season, take the ferry there - historic buildings, forts, horsedrawn carriages, nice shopping and eateries with great views. The Island usually opens mid May, then pretty much closes by mid October, so plan your vacation accordingly. Also, you may not be able to get there if the ice freezes on the bay.

Consejos para la ciudad

Formas de ahorrar

Ferries to Mackinac Island

There is usually a discount fare on the ferries if you book on line. Please note, if you plan to go to the island - the ferries may or may not be going there when/if the ice freezes on the bay. Please check with them if that is your destination off season.
Cómo moverse

Close to downtown

My house is a few short block walk to the boardwalk, the lighthouse, the marina, a couple parks, a coffee shop and a couple restaurants. There are additional restaurants further downtown and depending upon the date, the ferry to Mackinac Island is within that walk or they are further downtown.
Costumbres y cultura

Many activites and events

Please check the Chamber web site. During peak season there is always something going on. We have some nice museums and local historical things going on here - St. Ignace being one of the oldest cities - 350 years old. My house is a short walk to many of the activities and events.
