If you are looking to export the greater Bay Area, highly suggest taking a tour (weekdays only) or heading out to shuck some fresh oysters. The drive on the iconic highway 1 is always fun.

Blue Dot is a local coffee shop, walking distance from your stay. Alameda has small pocket business districts that were stops along the old train and trolley car stops. The tracks were removed decades ago, but the pocket business districts still remain throughout Alameda. Blue Dot is part of the Chestnut area, and on the same block you will see a neighborhood grocery store, Marti's restaurant, flower shop, and salons. Blue Dot is open Tuesday-Saturday.

Head to the city via the ferry. It takes 22 minutes from Alameda to get to San Francisco ferry building. You will experience incredible views of Oakland, Alameda and SF. Also get to see the "Dino's" at the Port of Oakland. It rumored that the Dino's are what inspired the Imperial Walkers in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. The ferry building has done of amazing places to eat like hog island oysters and many more. Some days they also have a farmers market.

Park st is Alameda's Downtown business District. We are about 8 minutes walking and 3-4 minutes biking. Park st has lot of great coffee shops, restaurants, bars, shops, and even the historic movie theater. It definitely a place to check out during your stay in Alameda.
