The Bec Jaune is a trendy micro brewery, lovingly producing 3 or 4 different ales per week. Much the same as you’ll find in any up and coming city, the Bec has been done out in a rough industrial shabby chic style. 80s snowboards are scattered around and classic LPs are tacked up on the walls.
The beer is good; they try and succeed to keep it interesting especially with the stouts, they’ve had coffee stout and smoked stout in recent months. They always have a pale, IPA and a stout on so there is something for every pallet. They have a limited wine list, it does the job, enough said.
As well as the ales, they’ve been brave with the food. Their quality homemade burgers have been added to with Japanese influences; the ramen and bibimap bowls are excellent and filling. A good idea when there are so many other places in town you can get a decent quality burger.
The Bec is definitely a pub, not a restaurant, the menu is short and the seating a bit rough, but its good quality grub, reasonably priced. So they are always full, definitely book in advance if you want to eat.

The food is out of this world, from the puffed up garlic bread to the amazing pizzas and fresh and tasty gnocchi, all piping hot and well presented.
